Outside of work…
Do I spend time away from work… co-workers wanted to bid for my un-used vacation time last year? When I do get away, I enjoy spending the time with my family. My wife, Madeline, and I have three children who have families of their own.

My other passion is disc golf. I am a certified official with the PDGA, I founded the North East Ohio Disc Golf Alliance and I am a certified disc golf course designer.

What you don’t know about me…
I have three active grandkids that keep me quite busy.

How I got my bragging rights…
I earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kent State University in 1975 and joined the SoL Harris/Day team in 1976. I have been fortunate to have found a great working and learning environment. The company philosophy “Designed for people. Designed for life.” truly embodies my life. When you get the people piece right, everything else works itself out.

How I give back…
Not only am I very involved with the St. Francis de Sales Facilities Committee, I help to influence the world of disc golf through work as the VP NEO Disc Golf Alliance, Senior Olympic Event Director and Certified PDGA Official.

Who molded me into the person I am…
My parents… They taught me the value of faith, hard work and integrity.

Architecture that inspires me…
I have no one single favorite. There are many buildings that inspire me when designing for many different reasons.

  • Where You Live and Work... Does It Really Matter?
Observing the Grand Canyon and hiking into it are two entirely different experiences. In the same way, the difference between being a guest in a new building and working in a great building is a bit like my story of the Grand Canyon. There is a lot of thought, time, money and risk in a new or renovated building....
