Green Local Schools
Green Local Schools combined their facilities into one large (151,000 SF) K-12 building located on the same site as their previous school.
The project began with a review of the OSFC District assessment to develop a master plan for community approval. SoL Harris/Day coordinated the engagement of the local community in order to determine voter interest and a direction for final master plan. Once the master plan was in place, preliminary space program requirements were developed with the staff, keeping in mind OSFC guidelines. The District personnel were consulted in order to develop educational specifications.
Construction budgets to execute OSFC master plan and determine bond issue millage rates were developed. All of this was created to engaged the community for a bond campaign which was successfully passed on the first try.
Designed around student centered learning concepts, the new facility includes a Cafetorium that can be utilized for multiple functions such as lunches, drama performances, assemblies and concerts.
This facility has achieved LEED Silver Certification.
