Massillon Public Library
The Massillon Public Library incorporated a 6,000 sf addition/renovation to accommodate the required on-grade ADA accessible entry and additional space to expand its Children’s Room program and Book Collection area.
The new entry element was designed to reflect the historical details of the original library while complimenting the existing traditional architecture. The exterior restoration included masonry cleaning, tuckpointing, window and column restoration, stone repair, and restoration of the wrought iron fencing. The interior space of the Children’s Room was completely reconfigured and detailed to reflect the excitement that abounds in a young reader’s mind.
"People from the public who were very fond of the old Children's Department love this, it is amazing to look at their eyes every time someone comes in seeing their expressions on their faces."
